s-CoNTROL

The new s-CoNTROL™ line of control products from Electronic Design Technology have been designed as a user interface for automation controllers. Ease of installation, simplicity in programming, speed of configuration, and reliable operation all at an affordable cost have all been designed into the s-CoNTROL system. The s-CoNTROL system eliminate many of the complexities and frustrations associated with the installation and configuration of existing control products. This philosophy has been extended to the user interface allowing simple system programming yet at the same time providing many advanced features only found on more expensive and complex systems.

SMB Station

The SMB™ Serial Multi-Button Station in the s-CoNTROL™ product line is an intelligent networked switching solution that combines quality construction with elegance and affordability. In conjunction with the s-PoWER network interface module, up to forty two SMB stations may be serially linked to an intelligent controller. The s-PoWER network interface module connects to the controller through either an RS-232 or an RS-485 port. The SMB string automatically configures upon initial power up eliminating the need to remember serial numbers or to set dials.

s-PoWER

The s-PoWER™ network interface module provides users with a communications interface between the SMB stations and intelligent controllers. The s-PoWER network interface module also supplies the power to the SMB stations. The s-PoWER module links the SMB string to either an RS-232 or RS-485 communications port of the intelligent controller. The  s-PoWER module provides the 9 volt power supply required by the SMB stations. Up to 42 SMB stations in one string can be connected to each s-PoWER module. The s-PoWER is provided with a power transformer which plugs into a standard 115 VAC 60 Hz or 220 VAC 50 Hz outlet.

s-PoWER-BR

The s-PoWER-BR™ Network Interface Bridge provides users with a communications bridge between the SMB stations and specific controllers. The s-PoWER-BR Network Interface Bridge also supplies the power to the SMB stations. The s-PoWER-BR module links the SMB string to either an RS-232 or RS-485 communications port of the controller. The  s-PoWER-BR bridge provides the 9 volt power supply required by the SMB stations. Up to 42 SMB stations in one string can be connected to each s-PoWER-BR bridge. The s-PoWER-BR is provided with a power transformer which plugs into a standard 115 VAC 60 Hz or 220 VAC 50 Hz outlet.

The following control systems are supported by the s-PoWER-BR bridge: LiteTouch 5000LC CCU Controller (Additional interfaces under development).

Accessories

Accessories for the s-CoNTROL™ line of products include the following items:

CP-(*) -- The CP-(*) cover plates provide the user with a changeable station face which can be printed on or engraved with button functions. The cover plates are available in White, Ivory, and Almond.

LB1 -- The LB1 generic label sheet comes with over 150 pre-printed adhesive labels that can be used to identify button functions on the SMB Stations.

CAB5 -- The CAB-5 control cable is a CAT5E 4-pair twisted cable that is rated to a 350 MHz bandwidth. The SMB Stations have been fully tested and are 100% compatible with this cable.

C-RJ45 -- The C-RJ45 control cable connectors are specifically designed to work with the CAB-5 control cable.

T-RJ45 -- The T-RJ45 terminators are required at the end of each SMB Station string. These terminators are specifically designed for the SMB Stations.
